Cute little Wyatt was a doll at his newborn session! He made me work for the sleepy shots but once he was settled on his tummy he was out like a light!
Lets just say snow in our part of Arizona is a rare occurrence. Extremely rare. And 6-8 INCHES of snow? Insanity.
I knew as the snow poured from the sky New Years Eve day that I had to do something special in all that amazing pure white stuff. And what could be more pure than a mama nursing her babe? So I threw out a quick model call and got quite the response. So Perfect Chance Photography and I decided what the hey? lets make this extra fun! So we teamed up to photography some sweet mamas and their adorable babies in the beautiful winter wonderland on New Years Day. It was an epic start to our year of capturing Motherhood!
(Now for the concerned observer I will let you know this IS Arizona - so while there may indeed have been 6 inches of snow on the ground it was a about 54 degrees while we were shooting - I wasn't even wearing a coat! All babies were snug and warm at mama's breast!)
Chance and I have been friends for some time, and we both discovered we were pregnant last fall - 10 weeks apart. Being photographers we have pretty much spent all year taking turns documenting each others journeys. Maternity, henna, blessingways, my birth and our attempt at my daughters newborn pics.
And, at last, the birth of Orion!
Two days before Orion made his appearance we ran out to the desert for a few last minute belly pics and some sweet pictures with Chance's two oldest children.
The next evening the contractions began and continued for a long drawn out night and day. I stopped in to check on everyone late afternoon, bringing a birth ball and blueberry Chai.
Afternoon turned to evening, evening to night and night to early morning as things intensified and the midwives arrived. At long last, after an intense labor, Orion Lynn entered the world at 7AM to be welcomed by his daddy Ian, big sister Jayda and Spiderman (aka, big brother Aesop!). His first moments of life were so sweet - surrounded by love at home!
Welcome Earthside sweet Orion Lynn! You are so loved!
Just a few weeks ago I photographed Emma's beautiful mama and handsome daddy down at the river. They were awesome - so clearly in love and excited to meet their sweet baby girl.
Just a few weeks later Miss Emma entered the world and I was so excited to get her and her parents in front of my camera! She was a fabulous baby who slept so well for me through lots of cute setups.
I love her sweet chubby cheeks and tons of dark hair!
A few months ago I photographed Mr Cristian's big sister Julianna when she turned five, and I was super excited to get to photograph this little man when he arrived. At just 5 days old Cristian was a dream baby and I enjoyed his session so much!
My third child arrived this Tuesday evening after a lot of waiting on my part! She is our longest baked and smallest child at 7lbs 11ozs and 20 inches long - born at 40 weeks and 1 day. She's a bundle of amazing sweetness who sleeps and nurses like a champ and we are all in love!
I'll be taking some time off to bond with miss Quinn and keep my older two feeling loved too, but I look forward to being back with some fabulous maternity and newborn sessions in June, a homebirth in July and lots more over the summer. Love to all my fabulous clients!
Sweet Julianna was tons of fun, full of sass and spunk! Her mama and I struggled to keep up with her at her session as she skipped all over the woods! She was a natural model though and full of smiles and cute poses!
Ah sweet Braelynn! I met her mama and daddy when I did her big brothers pictures in the fall of 2012. A few months later I did her mama's maternity and have over time become great friends with the family. Brae was born Feb 14th last year while I was photographing her Aunt and Uncle's wedding and she was my first newborn session in Arizona. She has grown so much since then and I enjoyed every moment of Brae's cake smash session!
So excited to celebrate one year with sweet Braelynn! And of course a quick look back to her newborn days is a given! Happy almost one year Braelynn Heart!
I took some pictures of Tiffany last fall out at Red Rock Crossing and since then she has dipped her toes into the modeling world, even traveling to New York City before Christmas for her first big break. She is headed back to NYC at the end of the month so we took a quick drive up to Jerome to get a few more shots for her portfolio.
Cannot believe I never blogged this sweet little man's session! About time as he just turned a handsome 3 months old!
At any rate, Drew is one of the most adorable babies I have ever had the privilege to photograph and he and his family are close to my heart as I followed mom through her pregnancy, was there for his emotional and beautiful birth and again just a few days later for his newborn pictures.
